AirTouch taps Elephant Talk for carrier grade mobile services platform

AirTouch Communications has signed an agreement with
Elephant Talk Communications for implementing mobile virtual network enabler
(MVNE) Platform in the United States connected to the mobile network of the
LightSquared 4G LTE network.

Elephant Talk will provide a mobile virtual network
enabling system that includes a gateway support network (GGSN), IN intelligent
networking platform, a customer relationship management platform (CRM), a full
rating & billing platform and a STP/Signaling platform for AirTouch to
launch its services in the United States.

It is estimated that a definitive agreement between
parties will be reached shortly.

“This is a step for AirTouch to be a cost effective
provider of mobile phone services directly to our customers with 4G LTE service
from LightSquared and all transactions enabled by Elephant Talk,” said
Hide Kanakubo, AirTouch CEO.

Using the LightSquared network, AirTouch aims to offer
its own branded wireless connectivity, opening up new revenue stream. AirTouch
is planning to offer its devices through LightSquared’s other wholesale
partners as well.

“Elephant Talk offers many advantages to our
partners, such as an established and proven record in several deployment models
and geographies, integrated organization, flexibility, and lower total cost of
ownership, avoiding awkward, expensive hardware upgrades and software licensing
renewals,” said Elephant Talk CEO Steven van der Velden.

AirTouch products converge various services including
voice, data/Internet, security services and video over the cellular network.

Elephant Talk’s software will enable AirTouch to offer
embedded PBX solutions without deploying an expensive hardware platform.

Recently, Elephant Talk Communications announced that it signed
a Mobile Network Virtual Operator (MVNO) agreement with SpeakUp.
