Allot app demonstrates the value of smart charging

By Telecom
Lead Team:
Allot Communications, a provider of service optimization and revenue
generation solutions for fixed and mobile broadband service providers worldwide,
has launched ‘Allot Pinball,’ a fun, educational mobile game.

The game is
aimed to simplify the concept of value-based data pricing plans for subscribers
and operators. The Allot Pinball Challenge will be held during Mobile
World Congress 2012.

The move away
from ‘so-called unlimited’ data plans towards usage and value based plans is
well under way. Allot Service Gateway combined with inline services such as
ChargeSmart provides the perfect vehicle for operators to evolve their charging
models. In addition to showcasing Allot Service Gateway at Mobile
World Congress 2012 (2B53), we will be hosting the inaugural Allot Pinball
Challenge, drop by if you think you can beat my score,” said Andrei Elefant, VP
of marketing and product management at Allot
.

In Allot
Pinball, the game scoring is a combination of the QoE and of the mobile
operator’s revenues per application. Each level of the game represents a
Value-based Charging plan offered by mobile operators, such as Happy Hour or
Social Networks Plan.

While only
small percentages of subscribers are affected by traffic caps, many more think
they are. In fact, most subscribers do not know how much data they are using
and to avoid additional charges or to be left without allowance they will
reduce their data consumption,” said Monica Paolini, founder and president,
Senza Fili Consulting.

Allot Pinball
brings the complex concepts of mobile data pricing to the players’ fingertips.
With Allot Pinball, anyone can become a mobile operator and try to effectively
charge for Over-the-Top (OTT) traffic, while providing the Quality of
Experience (QoE) subscribers’ expect.

The Allot
Pinball Mobile App is available for download to the Apple iPhone or iPad or to
any Android device.

A few months
back,
Allot Communications received an order worth
$9.5 million from an Asian Tier 1 fixed-line operator.

The order
includes the deployment of multiple
Allot Service Gateway platforms to provide vital network
analytics and control.
