BroadSoft selected by LG U+ to power hosted unified communications offering for South Korea SMB market

BroadSoft announced that LG U+, a South
Korea’s service provider of mobile, fixed-line and broadband communications
services, will leverage the BroadWorks voice application platform to launch a
new hosted Unified Communications (UC) offering for enterprises in South Korea.

The range of UC capabilities the BroadWorks platform
delivers include video, voice, call center, conferencing, messaging and
mobility, for businesses and consumers.

BroadWorks Anywhere enables increasingly mobile
workforces to communicate and collaborate from any device – so they can use
their laptops, smartphones, tablets and other connected devices
interchangeably.

Business users can ensure voice call continuity by moving
live calls seamlessly from one phone to another without having to hang up. As
the first service provider in Korea to offer BroadWorks Anywhere, LG U+ can
significantly differentiate its hosted UC services by offering fixed-mobile
convergence (FMC) services without the need for additional equipment.

“The BroadWorks platform has been widely deployed in
South Korea and by adding the mobile extension capabilities of BroadWorks
Anywhere, we now have a small business solution that is unique,” said
Sung Ryul Park, Director of Business Solutions, LG U+.

Users can use many of their business calling features
such as call transfer, extension dialing, hunt groups and attendant consoles,
regardless of which device they use to answer or make calls.

All communications preferences are stored in the cloud
and synchronized with the client on login. In addition, users have one identity
across voice, video and Instant Messaging and Presence services.

“LG U+ is offering innovative
communication services to provide businesses with the flexibility they need,
without the associated capital, lease or maintenance costs of a premises-based
system,” said Leslie Ferry, vice president marketing, Broadsoft.
