Deviser Instruments presents DS2831 digital TV spectrum analyzer

Deviser Instruments Digital TV Spectrum AnalyzerDeviser Instruments, a manufacturer of network test solutions for CSPs and telecom equipment manufacturers, has launched DS2831 Digital TV Spectrum Analyzer for a smooth transition to OFDM/DOCSIS 3.1 networks.

Deviser Instruments announced the spectrum analyzer at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver Colorado.

MSOs are under pressure to deploy DOCSIS 3.1 to offer gigabit service. MSOs need to roll out DOCSIS 3.1, without impacting the customer experience. MSOs need to turn up the service to the same specifications, and accurately find impairments such as interference and distortion.

Deviser Instruments said the DS2831 is the best test instrument for validating next generation HFC networks and meeting the requirements of installers, contractors, maintenance technicians and headend engineers.

Deviser Instruments said headend spectrum analyzers were not equipped with cable modems. But  Deviser Instruments has combined the merits of a true spectrum analyzer (including 80 dB dynamic range and -60 dBmV sensitivity @300KHz RBW) with an integrated DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem and OFDM signal demodulator.

“Together with the DOCSIS 3.1 modem, DS2831 can equip installers, maintenance technicians and headend engineers with a versatile and comprehensive tool,” said Bernie Cadieux VP, North America CATV Sales, Marketing & Business Development of Deviser Instruments.
