DiGi expands business with Teradata

Telecom Lead Asia: DiGi, a mobile operator in Malaysia,
is going to expand its Teradata environment with the help of Teradata.

 

The expansion will help DiGi identify optimal network
locations for future expansions and deliver real-time business information to
support efficient deployment of marketing campaigns.

 

The operator is expanding its Active Enterprise Data
Warehouse and Teradata Database to address its growing
analytical and operational reporting needs.

 

The expansion will advance visibility into the business,
allowing the operator and marketing operations to make strategic decisions
based on an expanded array of integrated data analytics.

 

The communications market is fiercely competitive, and
using data and analytics will help provide a competitive edge to improve the
customer experience.

 

Previously, DiGi had invested in Teradata for extensive
analysis of data pertaining to customer call detail records and customer
communications management.

 

Subra Suppiah, country manager for Malaysia for Teradata
said that Teradata analytic data solutions are the backbone of pervasive,
operational and real-time business intelligence for communications service
providers.

 

He claims that Teradata analytic data solutions enables
them to carry out detailed analysis and to make strategic and timely tactical
decisions that better serve their customers while achieving optimal
efficiencies in their operations.

 

Teradata second quarter revenue up 14 percent to $665 million

 

Recently, Teradata reported 14 percent increase in
revenue to $665 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2012
from $581 million in the second quarter of 2011.

 

Teradata’s Q2 net income grew marginally to $112 million
from $103 million in the second quarter of 2011.

 

With 19 of the world’s 20 largest telecommunications
companies as customers, the company has a strong presence in
the communications service provider industry.
