Elitecore Technologies launches new version of Policy Management offering NetVertex plus in v6.4

Telecom Lead India: Elitecore Technologies has launched NetVertex plus in v6.4, the latest version of its Policy Management offering.

New features include Enterprise Policy, Policy Analytics and RADIUS support for Wi-Fi Offload.

According to ABI Research, the global Policy market is worth $1.4 billion in 2012. Elitecore’s latest Policy version addresses increased operator demand for Policy solutions to evolve to handle complexity of usage monitoring, new pricing strategies and account management.

Exact Ventures says that the Policy Charging and Rules Function (PCRF) server market grew nearly 40 percent in the third quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter of 2011.  Despite a small sequential contraction due to seasonal factors, the PCRF market continued its overall upward trajectory as a result of the increasing need for operators to prioritize and control their mobile traffic.

“NetVertex’s Enterprise Policy feature will enable them to address growing enterprise demand for Data Services Control within or outside the organization while Policy Analytics will help design and launch subscriber-specific promotions & plans based on various inputs of revenue, usage and traffic feeds reports to PCRF,” said Dhaval Vora, VP, Product Management, Elitecore Technologies.

Apart from already existing support for diameter, Elitecore’s NetVertex solution will now provide native support for Wi-Fi Offload through a single PCRF deployment. Operators no longer need to procure a separate Diameter Translation Agent to talk to PCRF for Wi-Fi offload scenario which leads to CAPEX and OPEX savings along with less integration requirements.

According to Exact Ventures, the introduction and growth of voice-over-LTE, which is latency sensitive, will reinforce the continued advance of the PCRF market. The PCRF market is forecast to grow on average more than 30 percent annually in each of the next five years.

“PCRF is a critical network component that enables operators to implement rules that not only prioritize and direct network traffic, but also assist operators in mitigating costs and complying with regulatory requirements,” said Greg Collins, founder and principal analyst at Exact Ventures.

In the third quarter of this year, Ericsson took the top spot for PCRF market revenues, followed by Tekelec, Huawei, and Openet.
