Gemini Communication posts revenue of Rs 545.57 crore in FY 2011-12

Telecom Lead India: Gemini Communication has posted
total consolidated revenue of Rs 545.57 crore for fiscal 2011-12.

 The company’s EBITDA stood at Rs 139.02 crore and
EBITDA margin was 25.48 percent.

 

We have maintained healthy EBITDA in this fiscal year,
despite challenging business conditions and gloomy situation in telecom sector
in India but overall PAT took a hit due to high financing & interest
charges,” said Vijay Kumar R, chairman, Gemini Communication.

 

During the quarter ended March 31, 2012, the company
rolled out PointRed- Mobile WiMAX Network in 3 African countries.

 

The company is also carrying out pilots and readying for
commercial roll-outs in 4G space on PointRed’s LTE technology platform
that will enable it to have a strong footprint and market share not just in
India but globally as well.

 

Our pure play Managed IT & Telecom services business
has gained a lot of momentum and will help us shore up the profitability in the
coming quarters,” Vijay Kumar added.

 

PointRed, a global 4G equipment developer and
manufacturer, won major orders in Middle East for its backhaul and 4G range of
products. PointRed has also won contracts from a major Tier-1 operator in India
for the supply of MicroRed Backhaul range of products.

 

The company has built four data centers in banking
sectors and two more being implemented currently.

 

The order book comprises Rs 249 crore at March 31, 2012
which includes predominantly BSNL phase II, e-governance projects and recurring
contracts from major telcos.

 

With the existing strong order book, and business
potential in various projects like defense projects, e-governance /government
projects in the coming year, the company expects to continue the growth trend
in the same line in current fiscal as well.

 

PointRed Telecom to set up 4G equipment facility in India

PointRed Telecom is planning to set up 4G equipment
manufacturing facility in India in the next 12-18 months.

 

The company is planning to spin out Rs 200 crore for
R&D and manufacturing purpose. At present the company has two such
facilities in Taiwan.
