Groupe Cahors unveils new manufacturing unit

Telecom Lead India: French conglomerate Groupe Cahors has
unveiled a new manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon MIDC with an investment of
Rs 35 crore.

 

Groupe Cahors operates with two group companies – Transfix
India and Tek Components.


Group Cahor’s Tek is a key supplier to BSNL and
specializes in the design and manufacture of quality Connectors &
Termination.

 

It is a milestone for us. We believe that this strategic
investment will enhance Groupe Cahors portfolio globally and aggressively build
up and consolidate the Group’s growth plans in India. We have been able to
successfully combine technical expertise with the global supply chain
capabilities of the Groupe Cahors to offer premium products to our customers,”
said Michel Hibon, chairman and CEO of Groupe Cahors.

 

The one lakh sq ft new facility will be used for carrying
out necessary supporting activities including R&D, sales, marketing and
quality management.

High growth and development of the power sector in India is stimulating the
demand for transformers. Transfix is committed to producing high quality and
efficient products designed using hermetically sealed technology, developed
over the past 30 years,” said Pierre Willams director of Transfix India.

 

TRANSFIX manufactures a wide range of oil-immersed
transformers with power ratings between 50 and 2,500 kVA up to 33kV. These
transformers are 30pc more compact in size than conventional products and are
maintenance free.

 

Telecommunications industry represents the fastest
growing end-use market for connectors and associated equipment. Growth in
demand from the telecom industry to improve existing networks performance
concerns copper and fiber optic network,” said Gregory Flynn, managing director
