Hike today announced that its messaging traffic touched 30 billion messages in November 2015 against 20 billion in August 2015 and 10 billion in September 2014.

The messaging app has 70 million users as of September 2015. Recently, Reliance Jio Infocomm, the pan-India 4G operator, said its Jio Chat, a messaging app, achieved one million subscribers without the support of any promotion and over-paid advertisements.

Kavin Bharti Mittal, founder and CEO hike messenger said: “We’re now doing over a billion messages per day.”

“Its users are exchanging over 1 billion messages per day, amounting to over 30 billion messages per month. The company has crossed this milestone a month before it anticipated. This number has grown by 50 percent in a span of 3 months,” said Hike messenger.

The Indian messaging app said the launch of hike 4.0 has fuelled the growth in messaging traffic. The latest version features hike direct, which allows users to chat and share files without the internet. The other features include 500 member group chat with multi-admins, free group calling with up to 100 people, News in English and Hindi, coupons from over 100 brands and special photo filters and doodles.

The company is offering the upgraded version of hike free for Android consumers on the Google Play store and for Apple consumers on the iOS App store.

The company recently crossed 70 million users in October this year, making it by far the 2nd largest messaging app of the country. On an average a user spends also over 140 minutes per week on hike messenger.
