IAC selects XO Communications for Internet access services

Telecom Lead Asia: IAC, an Internet and media company, has selected XO Communications for Internet Access services.

IAC, which owns media and Internet brands such as Ask.com, About.com, Match.com, HomeAdvisor.com and Vimeo.com, will use the XO Internet access solution to support its headquarters in New York City.

The XO solution will benefit IAC’s content developers, marketing, and Internet-based businesses.

IAC’s network of sites has over 1.2 billion total monthly visits. With more than 367 million unique visitors across more than 30 countries, IAC’s network of sites would rank as the 7th largest in the world.

Ernie Ortega, executive vice president of sales and marketing for XO Communications, said: “The IAC network of sites is among the most visited in the world. The XO network is designed and engineered to provide the performance, reliability and scalability to support high-bandwidth demands of companies like IAC.”

Vincent Luciani, chief information officer of IAC, said: “As a media and Internet company, it’s critical that our employees and visitors to our building have access to the best technology possible. Partnering with XO Communications to deliver high speed access to the IAC HQ is critical to a business like ours that has no down time.”

XO Communications provides Internet access and network services at speeds up to 100 Gbps to meet the bandwidth needs of businesses and Internet-centric companies.

On May 17, Yankee Group said XO Communications leads all competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC) in terms of marketshare among small and medium-sized businesses. XO has the single largest share of the small and medium-sized business market among all CLECs with 11 percent, nearly double the market share of its nearest CLEC competitor.
