Inmarsat appoints Andy Start as president of global government business unit

Telecom Lead America: Global mobile satellite
communications services provider Inmarsat has appointed Andy Start as president
of its Global Government business unit.

He will be serving the global government market, with the
exception of the US government sector.

He will be responsible for customer-driven product and
service innovation, determining both wholesale and retail go-to-market
strategies, and driving the distribution of Inmarsat services to government customers.

Start most recently served as president, International RF
Communications at Harris.

Prior to that, he was managing director and vice
president of BAE Systems Platform Solutions. He served as director of the
Military Space business unit at Astrium where he was instrumental in the
creation of the Paradigm service business.

Inmarsat Global Government is one of the four
market-facing business units within Inmarsat Solutions, following the
organizational re-structure announced by Inmarsat in January.

Last week Inmarsat appointed David Helfgott as president
and CEO of Inmarsat Government, the Inmarsat business unit dedicated to serving
the US government sector.

“We welcome Andy to Inmarsat. He brings a wealth of
experience and a proven track record of success in the government, aerospace
& defence, and telecommunications industries, which will be invaluable as
we pursue our business goals,” said Jim Parm, president of Inmarsat
Solutions.

For the year ended 31st December 2011, Inmarsat had total
revenue of $1,409 million and an EBITDA of $854 million.
