Juniper Networks revenues down 4% at $1.07 billion in Q2 FY12

Telecom Lead America: Juniper Networks has posted
revenues of $1.07 billion for the second quarter of 2012, down 4 percent as
compared to $1.12 billion for the same quarter last year.

Net income plunged at $57 million in Q2 FY12, as compared
to net income of $115 million for the same quarter last year.


Revenues for product segment stood at $804.5 million for
Q2 FY12, as compared to $891 million for the same quarter a year earlier.
Juniper’s services segment fetched $269 million revenue during the quarter,
against $229 million for Q2 FY11.


“In a challenging macro environment, we remain
focused on our operational execution, delivering great products, driving
revenue and managing our cost base,” said Kevin Johnson, CEO of Juniper
Networks. “


Juniper’s operating margin for the second quarter of 2012
decreased to 8.1 percent from 15.3 percent in the second quarter of 2011.


Juniper estimates revenue for the third quarter ending
September 30, 2012 to be in the range of $1,040 million to $1,075
million.


Furthermore, the company expects its non-GAAP operating
margin for the third quarter will be in the range of 13% to 14%.


“In the second quarter Juniper delivered revenue,
margins and earnings ahead of our guidance, while customers remain cautious in
their investment activity near-term, we are focused on executing our strategy
to deliver revenue growth while driving disciplined cost management,” said
Robyn Denholm, CFO of Juniper Networks.
