Multi-Tech’s M2M solutions leverage Telit’s HE910-D penta-band HSPA+ modules and its DE910-DUAL EV-DO CDMA modules to offer longer product lifecycles with backwards compatibility to legacy 2G networks.

“When equipping devices with M2M communications capabilities, embedding modules into an existing design is often not an option, and an external solution is required. With these products from Multi-Tech Systems, organizations can leverage cellular connectivity with Telit’s modules with a decreased development cost for lower-volume applications,” said Mike Ueland, senior vice president and general manager of Telit Wireless Solutions North America.

Multi-Tech will soon offer Telit modules embedded inside its intelligent wireless routers, a 3G version of its embedded cellular modem and a Mini PCI Express embedded cellular modem – all approved by carriers as end devices. Each product will offer HSPA+ (penta-band frequency) and EV-DO options for streamlined global deployments.

“Aligning ourselves with Telit and utilizing its high-quality cellular modules, we are able to ensure that our customers’ M2M deployments benefit from a long life in the field and superior connectivity options, contributing to the overall success and ROI of their solutions,” said Mike Gustafson, vice president of marketing of Multi-Tech Systems.

Telit’s HE910 module is part of the xE910 family with all regional and network variants featuring the same form factor, allowing integrators to deploy M2M applications on a global scale and employ a range of network technologies.

In 3G mode, the HE910 supports all five existing frequency bands: 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz and offers ubiquitous 2G coverage with quad band GPRS and EDGE class 33, facilitating worldwide application deployments.
