Nokia Siemens Networks signs contract with Vodacom Tanzania

The Finnish-German joint network equipment
vendor Nokia Siemens Networks has won a five-year contract from Vodacom
Tanzania to modernize Vodacom’s network in the country.

Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks
will implement its single radio access network platform in the country.

Also, the company will replace Vodacom’s
existing GSM and 3G base stations with the single RAN platform.

The company will also provide its liquid
radio-based self-organizing network for the radio access and core network as
well as its NetAct powered network management solutions.

Recently,
ADTRAN, a provider of networking solutions,
has decided to acquire the Nokia Siemens Networks fixed line broadband access

solutions.

The acquisition includes the broadband
