Vidyo’s software-based hosted platform enables NTT Communications to expand its offerings in the video conferencing market without requiring expensive upfront infrastructure investments.

NTT Bizlink is planning to combine this cloud-based video collaboration service with existing video conferencing service offerings through NTT Communications Group, by launching H.323 gateway service in December 2012.

Its video conferencing service will be instantly available over any Internet or wireless connection through simple one-click access from desktops or mobile devices.

Meanwhile, the Japanese market for cloud-based video conferencing is increasing and it is expected that the Japanese video communication for businesses market will reach 61 billion yen.

Cloud computing and smart devices are expanding the video conferencing market to grow 210 billion yen in 2016 and 800 billion yen in 2020 in total.

“NTT Communications Group is a telecommunications visionary that recognizes the strategic importance of personal telepresence as an essential productivity tool for businesses of all sizes,” said Olivier de Puymorin, Arkadin’s CEO and founder.

“NTT Communications Group decision to sign on to Vidyo’s infrastructure-less Vidyo As A Service program, and the ease with which Arkadin is able to offer this next generation video conferencing service, are both testaments to our unique software architecture and a new affordable pricing paradigm for video conferencing,” said Ofer Shapiro, Vidyo’s co-founder and CEO.

Through Vidyo’s white label program, Arkadin is enabling more and more enterprises to experience quicker time-to-market, and to offer exceptional telepresence-quality video conferencing that can be accessed on the widest variety of mobile devices, desktops and room systems.

Arkadin’s hosted Vidyo service offers scalable deployments on mobile and room systems and interoperates seamlessly with existing H.323 infrastructure investments, without requiring enterprises to buy additional MCUs. These cost advantages can increase providers’ offerings to users.

The infrastructure-less Vidyo As A Service program hosted by Arkadin will be available worldwide to Tier One Carriers and is immediately available in the US, EMEA and APAC.

The Arkadin hosted Vidyo service is currently available in Japan through NTT Communications.
