Persistent Systems revenue increases 28.9% in FY 2011-12

Telecom Lead India: Persistent Systems has posted revenue of
Rs 10.0 billion for the FY 2011-12, against Rs 7.76 billion for previous year
2010-11, representing a growth of 28.9 percent.

For the FY 2011-12, the company posted profit of Rs 1417.80 million,
as against Rs 1397.36 million for previous year 2010-11.

For the quarter ended 31, March 2012, the company has posted
revenue of Rs 2.7 billion, representing Y-o-Y growth of 27.2 percent, and Q-o-Q
growth of 1.1 percent. The company posted profit of Rs 412.17 million, as
against Rs 331.35 million Y-o-Y, and Rs 405.84 million Q-o-Q.

For the FY 2011-12, the company’s EBIDTA stood at Rs 2.3
billion as against Rs 1.6 billion for previous year 2010-11, representing a
growth of 46.8 percent.

For the quarter ended 31, March 2012, EBIDTA was Rs 773.32 million,
representing a Y-o-Y growth of 103.04 percent, and Q-o-Q growth of 11.09
percent.

“We strengthened our domain focus in telecommunications
with the acquisition of the location business from Openwave Technologies. In
the life sciences space, we bolstered our domain expertise with the acquisition
of Agilent’s France based team that has expertise in analytical instruments.
Further, we also made investments in personalized medicine with Life
Technologies,” said Anand Deshpande, chairman and managing director, Persistent Systems.

In 2012 is an important year of global expansion for the
company as it established development centers in Grenoble, France and Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia and invested in supporting research in cloud computing and
life sciences at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

During this quarter, the company announced the launch of strategic
solutions around email and social media analytics with IBM InfoSphere
BigInsights.

The company’s employee strength reached to 6,628 as on March
31, 2012 compared to 6,360 on March 31, 2011.

Persistent Systems acquires location business from Openwave

Recently, Persistent Systems acquired the location business
from Openwave Systems through its US subsidiary.
