Polycom appoints Tracey Newell as EVP of global sales

Polycom announced the appointment of Tracey Newell to the
position of executive vice president of Global Sales to lead Polycom’s global
sales operations and execution, and accelerate the company’s growth in the UC
market.

Newell brings a proven track record in sales leadership
to Polycom, with more than 20 years at leading companies including Juniper
Networks and Cisco Systems. Throughout her career, Newell has focused on
networking, software, and cloud services, all areas of strategic importance to
Polycom, and she brings diverse experience leading teams across enterprise,
commercial, vertical, public sector, and SMB markets.

Most recently, Newell was SVP of Worldwide General
Business Sales at Juniper Networks, responsible for increasing reach and share
in the enterprise and mid-market. Juniper is a Polycom Open Collaboration
Network partner, and Newell’s move to Polycom will further strengthen the
companies’ strategic alliance.

Prior to Juniper, Newell held several sales leadership
positions at Cisco, including running worldwide sales for WebEx.

“Tracey is an exceptional sales executive with
wide-ranging global sales experience and particular expertise in achieving and
scaling operational and execution excellence,” said Andrew Miller, Polycom
president and CEO.

She has worked closely with Tracey in the past and knows
from experience that her operational focus and flawless execution will
complement her focus on strategic business imperatives. Polycom built
high-performing sales teams in all geographies, and they’re delivering very
strong growth numbers.

With the alignment across theaters that Tracey will
bring, I have every expectation that our sales performance will not only
continue to drive growth at Polycom, but will also broaden our customer
presence worldwide,” Miller added.

All Polycom theater
presidents (Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA) and global sales operations will
report to Newell, who will report directly to Miller.

“Video collaboration is increasingly becoming a
competitive must-have for any organization, and the UC industry overall is
accelerating. I’m looking forward to working with Andy and the leadership team
to execute on Polycom’s growth strategy, while delivering tremendous business
value for our customers in the marketplace every day,” Newell added.
