Telecom Lead Asia: Shanghai Telecom will offer Citrix web conferencing and online meeting tool, GoToMeeting with HDFaces, in China.
Shanghai Telecom will package the GoToMeeting with their services.
Shanghai Telecom, a part of China Telecom, will sell GoToMeeting under the name of Huiytong starting in October 2012. Customers will be able to conduct unlimited online meetings for up to 25 attendees for one low fee per month.
In addition to the availability for online users, GoToMeeting is also available as a free app for iPad, iPhone and Android devices, enabling people to easily join online meetings from any location with their mobile devices.
“The addition of GoToMeeting to Shanghai Telecom’s market-leading communications solutions provides customers with a simple-to-use, real-time collaboration tool that offers a great customer experience and improves team productivity,” said Brett Caine, SVP and GM for the Online Services Division at Citrix.
“The collaboration market in China is set for huge growth in the next five years,” said Fujie, general manager, China Telecom Shanghai Ideal Information Industry (Group). “Our workforce is looking for new, powerful ways to meet and share information in China and overseas. The partnership with Citrix allows us to provide customers with a leading web conferencing solution that is a great complement to our existing communications portfolio.”
According to a recent report in TelecomLead.com, Cisco and Citrix have expanded their desktop virtualization partnership to tap emerging mobile-cloud opportunities. They will focus on three strategic areas including cloud networking, cloud orchestration, and mobile workstyles.
