Sunrise Telecom launches advanced QAM analysis for CM3 series spectrum analyzer

Sunrise Telecom announced the addition of several key new features to its CM3 Series of plant maintenance analyzers.

Designed to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs and optimize productivity, the new features of the versatile test platform include full DOCSIS 3.0 capability and a unique, one-button
proof-of-performance (POP) feature for assuring a simple and seamless validation of required network compliance to stringent FCC standards.

Today, the exponential increase in the use of narrowcasting, Video on Demand (VOD) and high-speed data loading by MSO/CATV operators is placing critical demands on network performance and further taxing the cable plant.

Sunrise Telecom’s CM3 Series offers plant maintenance personnel the most comprehensive tool for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting the distribution network from the head-end to the home, ensuring the highest levels of quality to get the job done right the first
time.

The CM3 Series updates incorporate a broad array of gated measurements including composite carrier noise (CCN), composite second order (CSO), composite triple beat (CTB) as well as advanced HUM and the company’s new i-QAM feature.

These newly introduced gated measurements provide unique visibility into analog distortions, while the new i-QAM option allows analysis and troubleshooting under a QAM signal = all without service disruption.

The CM3 Series also features a premium portable spectrum analyzer, digital video QAM analyzer, non-interfering sweep system, DOCSIS 3.0 network analyzer, advanced SLM and PC emulation. The new features and enhancements provide the tools to complete the required FCC Proof-of-Performance measurements and facilitate troubleshooting.

“The new advanced features offered in our CM3 Series represent a premium level cable analyzer in a portable, handheld form factor,” said Bahaa Moukadam, CEO of Sunrise Telecom.

“In keeping with our mission to enhance productivity for our customers around the world, the added capabilities of the CM3 Series, along with the platform’s inherent usability and workflow optimization software, make it a must-have tool for those responsible for plant maintenance
and network reliability,” Moukadam added.

The CM3 Series and Sunrise Telecom’s complete portfolio of productivity test platforms will be on display at the OSP EXPO (booth 835), Sept. 13-14, 2011 to be held at the Duke Energy Center, Cincinnati, Ohio and at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, Nov. 15-17, 2011, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Sunrise Telecom recently announced RxT, smart productivity test platform, offering a complete solution for mobile backhaul installation and service activation in a single unit.

The RxT addresses the wide range of service verification requirements network operators face when
deploying mobile backhaul infrastructure to enable next-generation mobile communications and smart phone applications.
