Telecom equipment vendor ZTE ranked second in global IPTV middle market share

Telecom Lead Asia: Leading telecom equipment vendor ZTE
said it has been ranked second in global IPTV middleware market share in a
report by Multimedia Research Group (MRG).

 

According to the report, Microsoft leads the IPTV
middleware market with 22.9 percent, followed by ZTE with 11 percent. ZTE is
also ranked third in the overall occupancy ratio of the global STB market and
fifth in global IPTV VOD software.

 

The report analyzed various categories such as IPTV
middleware, STB (set-top box) and VOD (video-on-demand) software.

 

  In recent years the ZTE IPTV service has
developed through a customer-centric approach, continuously providing innovative
and stable IPTV series products, including lower-code HD solutions and social
TV,” said  Chen Xinyu, general manager of ZTE’s VAS Product Line, in a
press release.

 

ZTE offers carrier-class end-to-end IPTV solutions based
on the latest technologies and has extensive experience in global project
delivery. ZTE is continuously developing its global IPTV solutions, and
has constructed the world’s largest H.264 IPTV network, which has three million
online subscribers and 12 million users.

 

ZTE now leads the IPTV market in Asia and emerging
markets. The company has IPTV operations in countries and regions all over the
world.

 

With the research report predicting rapid IPTV market
growth in Latin America, and China’s government potentially enabling IPTV in
the country, ZTE is in a strong position to continue its growth in these
markets.

 

 Global IPTV market to touch US$45.3 billion in 2015, at a CAGR
of 20 percent in 2011-2015

 

The number of global IPTV subscribers will grow from 53
million at the end of 2011 to 105.1 million in 2015, a compound annual growth
rate of 18.7 percent, according to a recent report from Research and
Markets.

 

The service revenue for the global IPTV market is US$21.8
billion in 2011 and is forecasted to grow to US$45.3 billion in 2015, a
compound annual growth rate of 20 percent.
