Verizon leads telecom market in enterprise segment in Asia-Pacific

Telecom major Verizon is the leading player in the Asia-Pacific next-generation telecom services market, according to IDC.

IDC  attributes Verizon’s leadership position to the company’s upgrading of its global network, investments in its data centers and security capabilities, plus ongoing efforts to enhance the customer experience.

IDC assesses the capabilities and strategies of 11 key telecom service providers in the Asia-Pacific region, based on a comprehensive framework and a set of parameters that are expected to be most conducive for the success in delivering information and communications technology services to enterprises in the near and long term.

“We continue to break new ground in Asia, and this accolade further validates our continued investments to support our market vision. Everything we do is designed to strengthen our overall customer experience, and by integrating cloud, managed and professional services into our overall solution mix, we are increasingly enabling our customers to transform their business, in support of their business goals,” said Andrew Dobbins, vice president, Asia-Pacific, Verizon

According to IDC, next-generation telecom services include international IP VPN and Ethernet services, managed services including cloud services, and professional IT services excluding support services that are offered in the Asia-Pacific region. Vendors are evaluated based on their capabilities within the enterprise segment in the region.
