Websense rolls-out cloud-based TRITON Mobile Security for Apple iOS devices

Telecom Lead America:  Websense has released the
latest Websense TRITON Mobile Security solution, which is a cloud-based
security service for Apple iOS devices on wireless mobile networks.

The company claims that the newly released Websense
TRITON is the only solution that combines four key elements for highly
effective unified mobile security that are content-aware data security, web
security, malicious app protection and mobile device management (MDM).

Through this latest release, the company is implementing
of the Websense mobile security vision.

The company has also rolled out security releases that
provide mobile email data loss prevention (DLP) and on-premise Wi-Fi security
support.

The company said that the Websense TRITON architecture
added 10 new defenses against data theft and loss, including optical
character recognition (OCR) of text within images.

John McCormack, president, Websense said that the company
is focused squarely on securing confidential data as it’s accessed by corporate
and BYOD mobile devices.

The security solution offers protection for
data-in-motion and data-aware defenses that protect against data loss and the
theft of intellectual property.

The integrated MDM features enable organizations to
control mobile devices to keep them secure, minimize risk and maintain
compliance.

In conjunction with an on-demand VPN tunnel, the
cloud-based security service analyzes inbound and outbound data communications.

Jeff Wilson, principle security analyst for
Infonetics said that the latest release has extended the company’s expertise in
web, email, and data security solutions to handheld devices to protect
corporate data.

Administrators can roll out Websense TRITON Mobile
Security by installing a profile to iOS devices and choosing the appropriate
policy for company-owned or personal mobile devices to keep them secure.
