Avaya Government Solutions unveils mobile app to assist farmers in America

Telecom Lead America: Avaya Government Solutions, a
subsidiary of Avaya, has unveiled its mobile application – Farmers’ Market
Finder – to assist government agencies to repackage and disseminate information
to large public audiences.

Avaya said that Farmers’ Market Finder taps the U.S.
Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) database of markets that deliver locally
grown food, enabling people to search and locate farmers’ markets.

The application is designed to provide information about
specific goods sold in each farmers’ market, as well as addresses and
directions to each market. The application, available now for iPhone devices
and soon for Android-based devices, is now offered via the Apple iTunes App
Store.

“Avaya Government Solutions is uniquely positioned
to deliver a new generation of mobile applications that help governments
disseminate vast amounts of information to the public in new and helpful ways.
Farmers’ Market Finder showcases how we can quickly deliver important and
interesting government data directly to intended audiences, an approach we can
apply to other types of databases for mobile users,” said Tony Turni, vice
president, Services, Avaya Government Solutions.

Avaya claims that this announcement highlights Avaya’s
commitment to bring The Power of We to every Avaya customer, helping businesses
to drive faster collaboration, smarter decisions and better business results.

There are more than 7,100 farmers’ markets in the U.S. as
of 2011. The USDA estimates that there is a 17 percent annual growth since 1994
in markets across the country.

Avaya selected for U.S. General Services telecommunications

Recently, Avaya Government Solutions won a prime contractor
status on the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Connections II

Avaya Government Solutions is one of two awardees with a
