Huawei selects DSP Group chipset solution to power Huawei F685 3G DECT digital cordless phone

By Telecom Lead Team: DSP
Group, a global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged
communications at home, announced that Huawei, a global information and
communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, is using DSP Group’s XceedR
digital cordless chipset solution in Huawei F685 3G DECT Digital Cordless
Phone.

DSP Group‘s  XceedR family of DECT
system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions provides high integration, flexibility and
performance for digital cordless applications. The cost-effective cordless
chipset solutions combine RF and ARM9 baseband functions in a single chip
package with a rich set of telephony features and advanced audio-processing
capabilities.

Both companies’ joint effort enables mobile operators to
offer a new array of voice and value-added services (VAS) to home subscribers.
Fixed wireless telephony (FWT) opens the door to a new world of voice services
and VAS for home subscribers over cellular networks.

The F685, operating as a regular cordless home phone,
connects calls over a 3G network rather than a telephone jack.

“The release of our F685 3G DECT Digital Cordless
Phone is helping to bring the wireless world one step closer to the home. By
working together with DSP Group, we’re able to deliver the best of wireless and
cordless technology to mobile operators, who are now ideally positioned to
offer a host of new, revenue-generating services to home subscribers,”
said  Zhi
Hao, VP of Home Device Products Line at Huawei.

DSP Group in partnership with Huawei delivers FMC
products to European operators. Cordless-enhanced FWT not only facilitates
installation for operators, but also extends home voice coverage range and
enhances voice quality for home subscribers.

“Leveraging Huawei’s cutting-edge wireless
capabilities and our cordless leading position and core expertise, we are able
to offer mobile operators an increase in their ARPU as well as improved
subscriber loyalty,” said Oz Zimerman, corporate VP of Marketing and
Business Development at DSP Group.

DSP Group recently announced that
its cordless chipset solutions are powering a CAT-iq 2.0 certified home gateway
(HGW) offered by Deutsche Telekom.
