Telefonica selects Amdocs data management services

Telefonica has selected Amdocs data management services for an operational data store solution at its operations in Chile and Peru.

Amdocs will deploy an operational data store that aggregates data from multiple operational sources including charging, collections, ordering, customer management and enterprise product catalog.

Phil Jordan, global chief information officer of Telefonica, said: “This project supports our current transformation initiative in Chile and Peru by providing a more detailed operational picture, allowing us to make changes more quickly to improve the customer experience.”

Telefonica will be utilizing the Amdocs Logical Data Model (aLDM) to map and correlate data to understand customer trends in a better way. Telefonica aims to produce analytic dashboards and prepackaged reports to drive informed decision-making.

Manuel Zepeda, president for the Caribbean and Latin America region at Amdocs, said: “Operational data store, supporting the transformation already underway, will accelerate business value for Telefonica by delivering actionable business insights.”

Earlier, Amdocs announced its deal with Telefonica to modernize its business support systems and enable customers to move between all customer interaction channels across its entire quad-play offering — wireline, wireless, Internet and TV.

This apart, Amdocs earlier this year announced an omni-channel quad-play transformation initiative for Vivo, Telefonica’s brand in Brazil. Amdocs also works with Telefonica Argentina for executing its transformation initiative for wireline and wireless businesses.
