CES 2012: 3M introduces touch pen for mobile communicators

By Telecom Lead Team: 3M Touch Systems, a subsidiary of
3M, announced the availability of the 3M Smart Pen, 300 Series, in the
U.S. The 300 Series pen is available in the U.S. market through Amazon.com for
$18.99.

The 300 Series pen is finely-tuned for use with popular
capacitive touchscreen devices, including the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod
touch.

The 300 Series pen is suitable for mobile devices by
offering a compact”š easily-tethered design that telescopes to fit almost any
hand, from children to adults. Its compatibility with multiple products and
ergonomic and stylish design makes the 3M Smart Pen a valuable companion for
active users of most mobile touch devices currently in the market.

The 3M Smart Pen has a telescoping handle for ease of use
and a detachable lid that attaches to the speaker jack of a portable device.

The design of the 3M Smsart Pen is comfortable fit for
both small and large hands. Activating with only a light touch, the pen’s
anti-stiction properties let the pen glide smoothly across surfaces with
greater precision than a finger and reduces fingerprints on the screen.

The 3M Smart Pen is one of the most accurate and
high-quality capacitive touch pens on the market and we are excited to see how
users will enable new and unique ways to use this technology on their
touchscreen devices,” said Chris Tsourides, global sales manager, 3M Touch
Systems.

3M Touch Systems provides innovative touchscreen
technology products to customers worldwide under the 3M and MicroTouch brands.

3M has also showcased their 46″ Projected Capacitive
Technology display at the CES 2012. The Projected Capacitive Technology display
is capable of multiple simultaneous users with a 60 touch point capacitive
screen. 3M’s device will allow 4 split screens for users to multi-task,
multi-touch, and anything else you can think up at the same exact time
