Realme presents 5G smartphone in India where there’s no network

Realme on Monday announced the launch of realme X50 Pro 5G, a 5G smartphone, in India.

It comes with 64MP AI quad camera, 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED display and 65W SuperDart flash charging.

Realme said it X50 Pro 5G will be available in two colors and three variants. India’s first 5G smartphone will be priced at INR 37, 999 (6GB + 128GB), INR 39,999 (8GB + 128GB), and INR 44,999 (12GB + 256GB) and will be available on Flipkart and realme.com.

India is planning to sell 5G spectrum this year. But telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea are not keen to make investment in 5G network due to their financial conditions.

Realme X50 Pro 5G features 65W SuperDart, the world’s fastest charging, and 4200 mAh battery.

Realme X50 Pro 5G has 6 stellar camera options, including 64MP quad Camera with 20x Zoom and Dual In-Display wide angle lens.

Madhav Sheth, CEO of realme India, said: “We unveiled India’s first 5G smartphone – the flagship realme X50 Pro 5G today.”

Realme X50 Pro 5G comes with 5G network support. It supports SA and NSA dual-mode 5G networking, along with the mainstream frequency bands for 5G connectivity, including n1, n41, n78, and n79, to achieve dual-mode quad-band full support of 5G.

It supports dual SIM and dual standby. It also allows smartphone customers to connect to both 4G and 5G at the same time.

Realme X50 Pro 5G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G mobile platform paired with Adreno 650 GPU, promising 25 percent increase in performance, with an AI processing chip that is 2 times faster than the previous generation.

It supports up to LPDDR5 DRAM, with the speed increased by 29 percent and the power consumption reduced by 14 percent, compared to LPDDR4X. The use of UFS 3.0 increases the speed by 80 percent and lowers the power consumption by 20 percent.
