Qualcomm revealed that its latest Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform is powering Samsung’s latest smartphones such as Galaxy S21 series (S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra), for select regions.

Galaxy S21 Ultra features a Contour Cut camera housing that blends into the smartphone’s metal frame. The smartphone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the toughest Gorilla Glass yet.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the largest member of the Galaxy S21 series with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.

Galaxy S21 Ultra has a quad rear camera that features an upgraded 108MP pro sensor, from which you can capture 12 bit HDR photos with 64 times richer colour data and more than three times wider dynamic range.

The latest Galaxy smartphone allows customers to shoot in 4K at 60fps across all lenses including front and rear four lenses, so you can shift to a different perspective with the same quality.

Samsung announced that Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the first smartphones to support Wi-Fi 6E for better and faster connectivity.

Galaxy S features a 6.2-inch display while Galaxy S21+ sports an expanded 6.7-inch display and a larger battery.

S21 and S21+ will be available in a range of eye-catching colours, including a new signature colour: phantom Violet.

The Galaxy S21 features the latest and most advanced smartphone chipset yet in a Galaxy for greater speed, energy efficiency, and advanced computing capabilities to support 5G connectivity and on-device.

Galaxy S21 is designed to be used with other Galaxy devices and with SmartThings Find. It can help customers to quickly and easily locate your compatible Galaxy devices even when they’re offline.

Analysts have said offering a stylus within the Galaxy S21 series might signal the South Korean tech giant will merge the S line with its other premium smartphone range, the Note, already equipped with a note-taking stylus. That could free up resources for Samsung to push its separate range high-end foldable phones as key mass products rather than niche devices.

Samsung is looking to grab market share after China’s Huawei Technologies was hit with U.S. sanctions that restricted its supply and hurt sales.

An early Galaxy S21 launch is a likely tactic to capitalise on Huawei’s woes, said Counterpoint Research analyst Sujeong Lim. New iterations of the Note typically come in the second half of the year.

Lim said Samsung faces competition in the high-end category from Chinese vendors amid growing demand for devices that can be used for remote work amid the coronavirus pandemic, as well as play like videogaming.

In the U.S., the Galaxy S21 price starts at $799.99, S21 Plus at $999.99, and S21 Ultra at $1,199.99.

The series will be widely available starting Jan. 29 through Samsung.com, carriers and retailers online, Samsung said.
