ZTE to ship ZTE Grand series of smartphones from October in Russia

Telecom Lead Europe: Telecom equipment provider ZTE has announced the new ZTE Grand series of smartphones will be available in Russia from October at the “Welcome to the Grand World of ZTE smartphones” event of its brand new ZTE Grand series and Dual SIM smartphones.

The new ZTE Grand series includes ZTE Grand X V970 and V970(M) featuring dual core processing and a sleek ultra-thin design; the ZTE Grand X LTE (T82) with its high speed processor and high resolution screen and camera as well as the ZTE Grand Era one of the world’s slimmest quad-core, high resolution smartphones.

“The Grand series product line has many distinguishable features that set it apart from other smartphones on the Russian market. The handsets are also competitive with regards to price and quality which satisfies the demand for high-quality, affordable products across the country, “said Ding Haomin, vice president of ZTE Corporation.

ZTE Grand Era has already been launched in mainland China, ZTE Grand X V970 in the UK and Turkey and ZTE Grand X LTE (T82) in Hong Kong.

“With the use of dual SIM card slots in one handset, mobile users with ZTE Dual SIM smartphones can combine their work and personal communication without the complication and high cost of having two devices,” said Zhao Zhenning General Director of ZTE Russia.

ZTE shipped eight million smartphones in the second quarter of 2012, increasing by 300 percent over the same period in 2011.

 

Targeting significant smartphone growth, ZTE launches Blade III

The launch of the new smartphone is line with ZTE’s target to more than double its smartphone shipments to 35 million units this year from 15 million in 2011.

According to IDC, ZTE was ranked the world’s No.4 handset vendor by shipments in the first quarter. Total shipments reached 19.1 million and ZTE’s market share was 4.8 percent, exceeding LG, which had 3.6 percent.
