Karbonn Mobiles launches new tablet on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform for Rs 6,990

Telecom Lead India: Karbonn Mobiles has launched Karbonn
Smart Tab 1 running on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform.


Karbonn Mobiles claims it has become the first company to
bring in the latest innovation from the Android world to the Indian market.


It has collaborated with MIPS Technologies, a
provider of processor architectures and cores for networking, mobile and
embedded applications.


Karbonn Smart Tab 1 will be available at pre-book from
the Karbonn home site.


Karbonn Mobiles will provide a free upgrade to the
consumers from their pre-loaded Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform to
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) platform.


The Karbonn Smart Tab 1 is priced at Rs 6,990.


It features a 3D gravity sensor, Wi-Fi and 3G support
through USB dongle, along with a 2MP front camera and pre-embedded applications
such as the Karbonn Smart Browser and Karbonn Smart games, local apps and
a 17.8cm capacitive 5-point touch screen powered by a 3,700 mAh
battery.

Karbonn Mobiles is targeting to become the dominant
marketer in tablet market. It plans to sell upto 200000 units per month by
focusing on enterprise business solutions segmentation, education, healthcare
& hospitality and new-age business verticals.

cost-effective JZ4770 SoC in mobile devices. The JZ4770 SoC leverages the
simplicity and elegance of the MIPS architecture, and features extremely low

integration.


Gideon Intrater, vice president of Marketing,
MIPS Technologies, said after joining with Ingenic to announce the world’s
first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet in December, MIPS has achieved
numerous additional tablet design wins.
