Microsemi to shut down manufacturing facility in China

Microsemi, a provider of semiconductor solutions for aerospace & defense, communications and data centers, announced the closure of its manufacturing facility in China.

The Aliso Viejo, California-based Microsemi said its China manufacturing facility manufactures lower value discrete solutions. “The devices manufactured at the facility are not aligned with Microsemi’s strategic direction, and company resources will be invested elsewhere in higher value, higher growth products and end markets,” Microsemi said.

Microsemi did not reveal the impact due to a possible job cut in China. Microsemi has approximately 4,800 employees globally. Microsemi said there will be no material impact on earnings for the company due to this closure.

Microsemi Corporation’s products include analog mixed-signal integrated circuits, FPGAs, SoCs and ASICs; power management products; timing and synchronization devices and precise time solutions, voice processing devices; RF solutions; discrete components; enterprise storage and communication solutions, security technologies.
