Cable operator ADN Networks selects NDS for Delhi launch

Telecom Lead Asia: Cable operator ADN Networks has
selected NDS to launch its digital cable TV service in central and
Western Delhi.

NDS will provide MediaHighway set-top box software,
VideoGuard conditional access, a customized electronic program guide (EPG) and
interactive functionality such as games and TV applications, including regional
content.

NDS will also enable additional revenue streams by providing
regional advertising capabilities via the EPG home page and banner ads
supported by NDS Dynamic Advanced Advertising technology.

With its raft of innovative, affordable technologies and
strong support framework, we are confident that NDS is the right technology
provider to enable the launch our digital cable TV services,” said Tejinder
Chawla, director, ADN Networks.

With the digitisation of cable TV in India rapidly
progressing, cable operators are looking to migrate their existing platforms to
digital,” said Jayant Changrani, country head & general manager NDS India.

ADN claims that it has a strong subscriber base in central and Western
Delhi and was established in 2000. NDS will continue to work closely with ADN
to deliver a raft of world-leading, affordable and innovative solutions and
services to its growing subscriber base in Delhi.

NDS’ VideoGuard is deployed in 133 million pay-TV
households. VideoGuard conditional access (CA) and digital rights management
(DRM) technologies safeguard pay-TV service revenues exceeding $50 billion.

NDS middleware, which enables a host of advanced services
for subscribers, has been deployed on 226 million devices. NDS DVR technology,
centred around XTV, is a leader in the global industry with 49 million units
deployed.
