CES 2012: Cavium to showcase wireless display and broadband gateway solutions

Cavium, a provider of semiconductor products,
will showcase a range of wireless display and broadband /multi-media gateway
solutions.

 

Cavium
will demonstrate PureVu video processors, ECONA low-power, ARM-based and
Celestial processors at the CES 2012.

 

Cavium’s
PureVu video processor is designed to enable wireless display capability in
TVs, PC monitors, and portable displays, as well as small adaptors for mobile
devices including smart phones, tablets and notebook PCs.

 

While,
Cavium’s ECONA low-power, ARM-based processors are used by Tier-1 OEMs
building broadband gateways, network attached storage, cloud expandable
storage, media and print servers, and wireless access points.

 

Cavium’s
Celestial processors offer highly-integrated technology for cable, and satellite
set top boxes, and high-definition multimedia players.

 

At
CES,
Cavium also announced a new ultra small wireless display TV adapter reference
platform developed in collaboration with Qualcomm Atheros. Cavium is
demonstrating Tiga-Mini along with its other wireless display TV adapters.

 

Tiga-Mini
adapter is developed to address the emerging wireless display receiver market for
mobile devices.

 

Few
days back, Cavium had announced a technology and marketing collaboration with
chip major Intel to offer Intel WiDi-based products designed to enable superior
wireless display consumer experience.

 

The
end-to-end solution will combine Intel WiDi’s innovation with Cavium’s super
low latency technology and advanced video processing techniques to further
enhance Intel WiDi’s interactivity and broaden its target applications.
