China Telecom signs ZTE to build largest IMS network

China.

ZTE, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent gain IMS core market share

Recently, Exact Ventures said Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, and
ZTE each gained share in the worldwide IMS Core equipment market that increased
more than 50 percent year-over-year in the second quarter, mainly as a result
of sales to the Asia Pacific region for the large scale wireline deployments by
China Mobile and China Telecom.

ZTE said the contract with China Telecom includes
construction of an IMS phase II network covering 12 Chinese provinces,
including: Anhui, Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, Henan, Hubei, Jilin, Liaoning,
and Ningxia, Shanxi, Tianjing and Yunnan.

When the project is complete, ZTE will have acquired more
than 60 percent market share of China Telecom’s IMS networks.

As part of the project, ZTE will provide fixed network
transformation, security networking, development interworking and network evolution
to China Telecom.

ZTE IMS serial NEs are based on its Enhanced
Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ETCA) platform. The platform has
superior performance and security saves energy. ZTE’s fixed network
transformation solution can absorb all existing services while improving user
experiences.

“As the global leading IMS equipment vendor and long
term strategy partner of China Telecom, we are honored to continue our
cooperation with this project,” said ZTE CN Product CEO Liu Jianhua.

As of Q4 2011, ZTE has won over 140 IMS commercial or
trial contracts worldwide, including Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, U.S.A.,
Singapore, India and China.
