Cisco Q3 revenue up 5.4% to $12.2 billion, thanks to Asia Pacific

Telecom Lead India: Asia Pacific has powered Cisco’s Q3 FY 2013 revenue to 5.4 percent increase to $12.2 billion.

Asia Pacific – which include India, China, Japan, etc. contributed revenue of $1.95 billion in Q3 against $1.86 billion in Q2.

Cisco revenue from Americas decreased marginally to $7.12 billion in the third quarter from $7.13 billion in the second quarter.

Q3 revenue from the EME region increased to $3.13 billion from $3.09 billion.

Out of its main products, switching took a beating. Cisco says switching revenue declined to $3.59 billion in Q3 from $3.72 billion in Q2.

The company’s NGN routing generated revenue of $2.14 billion, up from $1.94 billion.

SP video revenue increased marginally to $1.29 billion from $1.22 billion.

Cisco’s collaboration revenue increased to $1.01 billion from $945 million.

Data center revenue decreased to $515 million from $548 million.

Cisco says its wireless revenue increased marginally to $523 million from $520 million.

Security revenue decreased to $327 million from $336 million.

Cisco’s net income rose 14.5 percent to $2.5 billion in the third quarter of FY 2013 against the same quarter previous fiscal.

“Cisco is executing at a very high level in a slow, but steady economic environment. We are starting to see some good signs in the US and other parts of the world which are encouraging,” said Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers.

“We have always believed that the Internet will revolutionize the way we work, live, play, and learn. This has never been truer than it is today, with cloud, mobility and video all coming together to deliver the Internet of Everything and unprecedented new opportunities for businesses and consumers,” Chambers added.
