Comba Telecom wins major femtocell contract from China Mobile

Comba TelecomComba Telecom Systems, a provider of wireless solutions, has won a major femtocell contract worth millions of RMB from China Mobile.

The company has been selected as the supplier for two of China Mobile’s major subsidiaries – China Mobile Group Beijing Company (Beijing Mobile) and China Mobile Group Henan Company  (“Henan Mobile”).

For Beijing Mobile, Comba Telecom will be supplying a series of enterprise small cell solutions including high powered GSM small cells, distributed TD-LTE small cells and distributed dual band GSM+TD-LTE small cells which will power Beijing Mobile’s GSM and TD-LTE multi-band small cell deployments.

For Henan Mobile, Comba Telecom’s equipment will be deployed throughout 18 cities in the Henan Province. The contract includes supply of residential and enterprise GSM small cells, and GSM+TD-LTE small cells for enterprises. Comba Telecom will also be responsible for the provision of gateway and network management services of the small cells.

Commenting on the deal, Zhang Yuejun, vice chairman and president of Comba Telecom, said, “The win with Beijing Mobile reflects the success of our iCell (distributed Small Cell) Solution amongst the operators in China and is an indication of the value proposition of the iCell: being an intelligent, integrated and flexible in-building wireless system that is highly cost-effective.”

In addition to Henan, the company’s GSM small cells are now widely utilized for commercial purposes in more than 20 provinces in mainland China.
