Dell lost storage market share in Q3 as Huawei gains

Dell Technologies, HPE, NetApp, Huawei, Hitachi and IBM are the leaders in the enterprise storage systems business during Q3 2020, according to IDC.

Dell Technologies’ storage systems share dropped to 28.8 percent in Q3 2020 from 30.2 percent during the third quarter of 2019, the latest IDC report has revealed.

HPE’s enterprise storage systems share increased to 10.8 percent in Q3 2020 from 9.9 percent in Q3 2019.

NetApp’s share in the enterprise storage systems business dropped to 9.4 percent during Q3 2020 from 9.5 percent in Q3 2019.

Huawei’s share of the enterprise storage systems business increased to 9.4 percent in Q3 2010 from 7.4 percent in Q3 2019.

Hitachi’s share of the enterprise storage systems business touched 5.6 percent in Q3 2020 as compared with 6.1 percent in Q3 2019.

IBM’s share in the enterprise storage systems business dropped to 4.6 percent from 5.8 percent during Q3 2020.

Global market revenue for enterprise external OEM storage systems declined 1.4 percent year over year to nearly $6.8 billion during the third quarter of 2020.
