Ericsson inks telecom deal with Telenor to supply radio and professional services

Telecom network vendor Ericsson on Monday announced its 5-year framework deal with Telenor to supply radio hardware and professional services.

The deal will cover 2G, 3G and 4G. Ericsson. which competes with Nokia Networks, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent and ZTE, is the world’s leading supplier of LTE equipments.

Rollout of 2G, 3G and 4G technologies, as well as installation, operational support, hardware and software support, and maintenance are part of the deal. Ericsson, which will offer RBS6000 base stations to Telenor, did not reveal the size of the telecom deal.

Telenor said LTE 4G will be one of the major investment areas in the coming years. As per the deal, Ericsson, the #1 telecom network vendor, will supply innovative solutions, strengthen its collaboration capabilities and meet the strategic ambitions of Telenor.
