Mobile network vendor Ericsson announced its LTE expansion contract with Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan.
Chunghwa Telecom’s LTE expansion will include small cell deployment to address the demand to deliver more music, video, and value-added business services to drive revenue growth.
Ericsson will continue to serve as sole supplier for the entire core network, including a multi-access Evolved Packet Core, and as a major supplier for RAN in Taiwan’s most populated areas, including Taipei city.
Lin Kuo-Feng, president of Chunghwa Telecom Mobile Business Group, said: “The rapid growth of 4G subscriptions has exceeded our expectations. We see a huge data demand, and shifting consumer behavior to more data-centric services.”
