Huawei in 2014: Carrier revenue up 15%, Enterprise up 27%, Devices up 32%

Huawei today said its revenue from carrier network business rose 15 percent, enterprise grew 27 percent and devices increased 32 percent in 2014.

The Chinese telecom network vendor said it would clock nearly 20 percent growth in 2014 revenue to $46 billion (between CNY287-289 billion).

Huawei’s main businesses are expected to bring in profit of CNY33.9-34.3 billion, with a margin of 12 percent.

Revenue of Huawei’s Carrier Network business increased nearly 15 percent, fueled by increase in 3G and 4G investments.

Huawei’s Enterprise Business grew nearly 27 percent supported by its big client list that includes more than 100 of the world’s top 500 companies.

Huawei’s Consumer Business revenue increased nearly 32 percent due to the sale of mid-range and high-end handsets — with Huawei enjoying particularly strong growth in emerging markets.

“Huawei invests in building technological advantages on an ongoing basis. In 2014 Huawei invested $6.4 billion in R&D, an increase of 28 percent over 2013. Huawei has cumulatively invested $30.3 billion in R&D over the last ten years. The company submitted 546 proposals for LTE core standards to 3GPP, accounting for nearly 25 percent of the world’s total,” said Huawei Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou.
