Team: Huawei and
PCCW-HKT, a mobile service provider in Hong Kong, have achieved peak downlink
data rate of 84Mb/s, experiencing the world’s fastest MIMO (multi-input
multi-output) and Dual Carrier HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus)
connection.
The trial
reached a peak downlink data rate of 84Mb/s, the fastest ever experienced by 3G
end-users – demonstrates that MIMO and Dual Carrier HSPA+ technology is ready
for commercial deployment.
Huawei’s HSPA+
solution benefits operators by improving spectrum utilization and efficiency by
up to 20 percent and doubling user data rates across the coverage area. The end
user benefits through an enhanced mobile broadband experience, especially for
accessing cloud services, real-time interactive network gaming, video
conferencing, and file sharing.
Achieving
higher speeds is a constant pursuit for customers and their subscribers. As a
customer-centric company, Huawei is dedicated to developing innovative
technology and cost-effective solutions and services. We strive to deliver the
latest in commercially available mobile broadband technology and user devices,”
said Wang Tao, president of Wireless Network, Huawei.
Huawei provided
PCCW-HKT with an end-to-end 84Mb/s HSPA+ network, including a radio access
network, a core network, and new devices. Huawei’s industry-leading SingleRAN
solution enabled PCCW-HKT to build a multi-layer mobile broadband network
across Hong Kong, increase network capacity, enhance user experience, and lower
the total cost of ownership.
To date, Huawei
has deployed 76 HSPA+ commercial networks, of which 25 commercial networks
support 42 Mb/s Dual Carrier HSPA+, and ranks first in commercial HSPA+ market
share.
Recently,
Huawei has been selected to deploy western Africa’s first LTE TDD commercial
network for ZODA FONES, a telecom operator in Nigeria.
Huawei to deploy LTE TDD Network for
ZODA FONES in Western Africa
Leveraging
Huawei’s SingleRAN LTE TDD solution, this network will cover the capital of
Nigeria and its surrounding areas to provide end-users with high-speed and
abundant data services.
Based
on an analysis of the operator’s needs and the mobile market situation in
western Africa, Huawei proposed that Nigeria employ its SingleRAN LTE TDD
solution, consisting of radio access network and core network solutions. The
high spectrum efficiency and maximized spectrum asset value this solution is
able to bring to ZODA FONES has provided Huawei with an ideal opportunity to
deploy its first LTE TDD network
