Huawei revenue up 15% in H1, beating Ericsson and Nokia

Huawei booth at MWC 2017Huawei announced revenue of CNY 283.1 billion or $42 billion (+15 percent) with an operating margin of 11 percent in the first half of 2017.

Huawei’s revenue is from three business groups: consumer (primarily smartphones), telecom and enterprise. Huawei confirmed that it achieved solid growth across all three of its business groups in the first half of 2017.

Huawei generated around $26.4 billion revenue from carrier business and enterprise business segments.

The China based technology company did not reveal the financial performance during the second quarter.

Today Nokia Networks reported 5 percent drop in revenue in the second quarter of 2017 due to adverse conditions in telecom markets globally. Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri has also indicated about further troubles for the Finland-based telecom equipment maker in 2017 due to challenging business conditions.

On the other hand, Ericsson posted 8 percent drop in revenue in the second quarter of 2017.

Huawei in a statement said that it continued to boost the efficiency and quality of its operations, and achieved solid growth across all three of its business groups in the first half of 2017. The company is expected to maintain its current momentum, and round out the year in a positive financial position.

Huawei said its carrier business focused on enabling customer success and to help global carriers drive digital transformation in all industries. Its business solutions help carriers lower the cost of their network construction from end to end.
