Infosys to build tablet based business intelligence solution to monitor energy usage for an oil and gas company

Telecom Lead Asia: India’s second largest software
services provider Infosys has partnered with a resources conglomerate with
interests in oil and gas to build a tablet based business intelligence solution
to monitor energy consumption patterns and aid faster decision making to
optimize energy consumption.

 

Furthermore, the oilfield services company has engaged
with Infosys to build a mobile asset tracking solution to monitor and manage
heavy equipment deployed on the field.

 

Infosys said that it has created a tablet based sales
lead management solution for senior executives of a Canada based
insurer.

 

For an American retailer, Infosys is creating a gift
catalogue application, combining the power of mobile and social media allowing
its customers to choose products and share it as gift wish lists with their
friend circles.

 

Infosys has partnered with a semi-conductor chip
manufacturer to develop and validate a path breaking Wi-Fi solution, built
on a future tablet platform.

 

The company is designing and developing a new wireless
medical communication chipset, along with firmware, pre-compliance testing and
prototype development for a medical device major in collaboration with its
eco-system of labs and board manufacturing partners.

 

Infosys revenues declined by 1.9 percent and stood at
$1,771 million for the Q4, against $1,602 million for the Q4 2010.

 

Net income after tax was $463 million for the
quarter ended March 31, 2012, with QoQ growth of 1.1 percent.

 

Infosys reported a net profit of $463 million for the
January-March quarter, up 27.4 percent year-on-year against $402 for Q4 2010.

 

For the next quarter, the company expect that its
revenues will be in the range of $1,771 million and $1,789
million; YoY growth of 6.0 percent to 7.1 percent.

 

The company added 52 clients during the quarter by
Infosys and its subsidiaries and gross addition of 10,676 employees (net
addition of 4,906) for the quarter by Infosys and its subsidiaries.
