Juniper Networks revenue grows 9% though SP business drops 2%

Juniper Networks said its revenue rose 9 percent to $1.168 billion during the first quarter of 2022 though Service Provider revenue declined 2 percent year-over-year due to the timing of shipments.

— Automated WAN Solutions revenue increased 1 percent to $390 million
— Cloud-Ready Data Center revenue increased 20 percent to $189 million
— AIDriven Enterprise revenue increased 33 percent to $214 million

Juniper Networks said its Enterprise business grew 19 percent to $433 million – becoming the largest vertical for the first time in its history.

Juniper Networks said its Cloud business grew 13 percent year-over-year to $307 million, the fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth.

Juniper Networks said its Service Provider revenue declined 2 percent year-over-year to $428 million due to the timing of shipments and orders increased double digits year-over-year.

The company’s Service Provider business dropped 2 percent year-over-year and fell 16 percent sequentially to $428 million. The year-over-year decrease was primarily due to Automated WAN Solutions, partially offset by an increase in Cloud-Ready Data Center.

The sequential decrease in SP business was primarily due to Automated WAN Solutions, and to a lesser extent, Hardware Maintenance and Professional Services and AI-Driven Enterprise, partially offset by an increase in Cloud-Ready Data Center.

Total Software and Related Services revenue was $228 million, which was an increase of 60 percent year-over-year.

Total Security revenue was $161 million, down 1 percent year-over-year.

Juniper Networks said its top 10 customers for the quarter include three from Cloud, six from Service Provider, and one from Enterprise. Top 10 customers accounted for 32 percent of the total revenue as compared to 31 percent in Q1 2021.
