Nokia Networks signs 5-year managed services deal with Mobily

Telecom network vendor Nokia Networks today announced its managed services deal with Saudi Arabia telecom service provider Mobily.

The duration of the managed services deal for managing Mobily’s telecom network operations is five years. The duration of the first contract was three years.

This apart, Nokia Networks will expand the telecom operator’s 2G, 3G, and 4G (TD LTE, FDD LTE) mobile broadband networks to further improve voice and data services to Mobily’s mobile customers.

Mobily, a brand of Etihad Etisalat, has 40 percent mobile market share in Saudi Arabia.

The second managed services deal also covers the central region that has been served by other vendors until now, expanding its managed services footprint in Mobily. With the network expansion deal, Nokia Networks also expands its radio footprint, providing TD-LTE radio technologies in the central region.

“Our priority is ensuring the best possible customer experience even when our network becomes more and more complex due to multiplicity of network layers, especially when providing data services,” said Khaled Alkaf, CEO, Mobily.

“Nokia Networks’ proven products and services have helped us boost our network and service performance at an optimal cost of ownership and reduced carbon footprint in the past,” Alkaf added.
