Nokia, Zain KSA demo Liquid Applications enabling better mobile broadband experience

Telecom network vendor Nokia today said Zain KSA has demonstrated Liquid Applications that enables better mobile broadband customer experience.

Nokia and Zain KSA have conducted the demonstration – on a live network — in Saudi Arabia last week.

Powered by Nokia’s radio and core network elements, the live demo showed improved throughput and more efficient transmission between the base station and core network.

Sultan Al Deghaither, senior director of Network Engineering, Zain KSA, said: “The demonstration in our live network proves that the solution has the capability to take the experience of mobile broadband services to completely new levels.”

Nokia’s Professional Services carried out the network planning and optimization, system integration, and network implementation to complete the demo on Zain KSA’s live network.

In addition, Nokia used its Radio Applications Cloud Server, Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station, OSS based on its NetAct network management system for the management of Liquid Applications and the services in use, the company said in a statement.

Zain KSA has 8 million customers, network coverage to 93 percent of the population via a network of over 5,500 sites.
