Proxim unveils Tsunami 835 subscriber unit

Proxim Wireless n has launched Tsunami 835 series of low cost plus full feature subscriber units.

The telecom network vendor targets the needs of the wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) market with the launch of Tsunami 835.

The 835 will provide wireless broadband connectivity to small to medium businesses (SMBs) and consumers at the low cost.
Proxim has also expanded its license-upgradeable throughput capabilities and will be available for purchase with throughput capabilities of 10 Mbps or 25 Mbps.

Company officials said the 835 has removed the need for expensive and time-consuming equipment replacement and bucket truck rolls.

Additionally, all 835 products are powered by Proxim’s proprietary Wireless Optimized Routing Protocol (WORP) software. The Proxim customers can have tangible, real world benefits and ability to operate either in GPS synchronized mode or asynchronous mode with the Proxim’s WORP.

The WORP also offers Quality of Service (QoS) settings enabling the prioritization of the most time-sensitive network traffic, and Dynamic Data Rate Selection (DDRS) calibrating the network to the appropriate modulation settings in the RF environment for continuous high throughput on the network.

The new Tsunami 835 provides standard two year subscriber unit warranty and is easy to install with extended coverage. The company claimed the newly launched series is secure, supports backward compatibility and has wide range frequency support.

Last month, Proxim launched ORiNOCO USB-9100 Wi-Fi Adapter with dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac support, enabling users to experience next-generation, ultrafast Wi-Fi access.

Also, CSi: Integrated Security & Communications Systems deployed Proxim Tsunami 8200 and 820 series radios to support the citywide surveillance network which has helped reduce crime by 20 percent.
