Telco Systems achieves new milestone in next-generation firewall

Telco Systems NFVTelco Systems, a provider of SDN/NFV, CE 2.0, MPLS and IP solutions, today announced that the it has successfully completed the benchmark testing of its next-generation firewall (NGFW) performed by Intel.

For this test, Telco Systems chose the Advantech FWA-3050, a managed network appliance for uCPE applications that is based on the Intel Xeon D-2100 processor.

The NGFW test results proved that the device can deliver increased performance with a higher number of tunnels, and that the performance is sufficient for uCPE and MEC deployments in large enterprises, large branch offices or in an MNO’s point of presence (POP), or next-gen central office (NGCO), according to Intel.

Intel has also recognized Telco System as a virtualization Solution Partner as part of the Intel Network Builders partnership program. The company also won the Winner’s Circle award for 2019 for accelerating network transformation and working closely with Intel and contributing its ecosystem.

In Telco Systems platform reference testing, Fortinet’s FortiGate NGFW was chosen to demonstrate the firewall performance of the NFVTime platform.

Telco Systems’ NFVTime is an open and neutral plug-and-play virtualization suite, offering a complete environment for quick service deployments and includes a broad portfolio of certified VNFs that are centrally managed and orchestrated, the company said.

“This important recognition from Intel strongly positions our NFVTime solution for network virtualization as the operating system of choice for operationalizing uCPE and edge computing across the telco industry,” said Gabriel Kerner, vice president of Product Management and Business Development at Telco Systems.
