Telecom Lead Middle East: Yes Satellite, Israel’s a
broadcast satellite service provider, has deployed Radware’s AppDirector,
an intelligent application delivery controller (ADC) platform, and
Attack Mitigation System (AMS) for video-on-demand service.
The service provider launched its video-on-demand (VoD)
service in March 2010 using over-the-top technology to deliver high-quality
video over an Internet connected home network.
The new deployment of Radware’s solutions is a result of
recent expansion of VoD service by Yes Satellite.
The provider required additional throughput for
uninterrupted and secure service that could scale over time when adding more users
and services. And, it also needed a solution to mitigate network attacks that
might have threatened to disrupt service to its subscribers.
To address these challenges, Yes Satellite selected
Radware’s ADC solution for its advanced global load balancing and on-demand
scalability features that ensure the availability and fast responsiveness of
its VoD service with minimal latency to give customers the best quality of
experience.
The provider also selected Radware’s AMS to protect its
application infrastructure against network and application cyber threats.
“Delivering video streaming applications through our
VoD service required highly-available bandwidth, advanced global load balancing
and integrated security. A critical point in our decision was being able to
achieve this through a single vendor, and Radware gave us that option,”
said Moti Stambulchick, head of infrastructure, Yes Satellite.
The solution delivered a cost-effective, highly-scalable
system to support increased bandwidth traffic and network security without the
need to add hardware.
