ZTE at smart city and IBC events

ZTE
Telecom networking and software major ZTE made two announcements — STB and its smart city solutions.

ZTE STB at IBC

ZTE has unveiled its ZXV10 B820T2-A14 set top box (STB) at IBC 2016 in Amsterdam. The B820T2-A14 is an advanced STB, using a 4-core CPU and 5-core GPU to realize UHD 4K, to enhance the overall video experience.

The STB uses the Android TV system by Google and JVM, to achieve compatibility and interoperability with other Android applications and integrate it with ZTE Smart Home, for multi-screen, HD video calls, family album, home IoT network and voice assistant features.

The B820T2-A14 STB uses Analogic system on a chip with a 64 bit CPU architecture, 16GB EMMC Flash, 2GB DDR3 for smooth functioning providing 802.11AC 2*2 Wi-Fi wireless and RJ-45,10/100M wire access and supports Bluetooth 4.1, enabling Bluetooth remote and D-PAD connection.

With 4K & OTT being recognized as consistent industry trends to turn in to dominant broadband services, traditional DVB service providers are trying to match them for which the 4K DVB-T2 hybrid STB are a good and economical option.

“The B820T2-A14 has become an important part of the ZTE Big Video 4K Plus Solution, helping to consolidate ZTE’s leading position in the global smart STB market,” said Fang Hui, vice president at ZTE.
